These snails will tirelessly roam your reef tank for all types of algae to munch on.

Cyanobacteria are typically ignored by algae-eating fish and other fish that may nip on actual algae. The toxins are released into the water when the algae die and decay. Dirty filter or substrate is usually the main reasons that cause blue green algae to grow and invade your aquarium. While the ones found in aquarium tanks are mostly harmless to fish shrimp and other stock they can quickly cover plants and kill them. Currently I have all different kinds of snails in my main but Im not sure which ones I should get to keep my sump in check as well. Also Court Jester Gobies have been known to pick at cyanobacteria helping with removal.
